Delivery TimesWe currently only process and dispatch within Canada. Orders are processed and dispatched Monday through Friday. Estimated Dispatch Times: Most items are dispatched within 24 to 72 hours. Please note that dispatch time refers only to the time before your order leaves our facility and does not include shipping time. If one or more items are unavailable when you place your order, dispatch may be delayed to allow us to ship your order in as few parcels as possible. Estimated Canadian Delivery Times: Standard Shipping (Various Couriers): 1–5 business days, depending on destination.

Expeditated or next day shippingWe currently do not offer expeditated shipping.

In store pickupWe currently do not offer in-store pickup, but are actively working to establish partnerships to offer pickup locations across the Greater Toronto Area. Please stay tuned for updates.

Wrong item received/item damagedIf you receive the wrong item or if an item arrives damaged, please contact us within 14 days of delivery. We’ll gladly send you a replacement, or you may return the item for a full refund. If you accidentally receive something you didn’t order and were charged for it, simply return the item within 14 days and we’ll issue a full refund. Please note that return shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is due to an error on our part (such as a wrong or defective item).

Tracking information is missingIf there is no tracking information, or you can't locate your package, please contact us within 30 days of receiving your shipping confirmation email.

Incorrect AddressWe ship to any Canadian address, including to Post Office Boxes. If you realize you entered a wrong or incorrect address after placing your order, please get in touch as soon as you can, with your order number and tracking information handy. You have 30 days from ship date to report a lost order.

Returning Product(s)Please note that all sales are final—we do not offer refunds through our online shop. However, returns or exchanges may be considered on a case-by-case basis. If there is an issue with your order, please contact us at info@foundbook.ca with your order details. We’ll be happy to review the situation and get in touch with you directly to discuss available options.

Taxes and ExemptionsAll taxes are calculated based on your shipping destination. In Canada, printed books are exempt from provincial sales taxes, so only the federal GST (5%) applies, even in provinces that charge HST (Harmonized Sales Tax). Other items — including non-book products, gift wrap, and shipping charges — are subject to PST, GST, or HST as applicable based on the delivery address. Orders shipped outside Canada are not subject to Canadian taxes; however, local duties and taxes may be assessed by Customs in the destination country, and the recipient is responsible for paying these charges upon delivery.

Accepted Payment typesWe accept the following payment methods: Visa Mastercard American Express Discover JCB Union pay Diner’s Club Google and ApplePay digital wallets When you place an order with a credit card, the full amount is pre-authorized at checkout. This is a temporary hold that is automatically released by your card issuer within 5 business days. Your card is officially charged when the order is placed. If a refund is issued (for a return or adjustment), it will appear on your card or digital wallet account within 3–5 business days after the refund is confirmed by email. Please note that actual posting times may vary depending on your bank or card issuer.

Pricing and matchingAt Found in Translation, we’re a small, local bookstore passionate about connecting readers with great books. We carefully set our prices to reflect the value of the books and the care we put into sourcing them. All books not marked with a sale price are sold at the publisher’s suggested retail price (SRP). Because we’re a small independent business, we don’t offer price matching with other retailers. Our focus is on providing personalized service, carefully curated selections, and supporting our local community, rather than competing on price alone. We strive to pass savings on to our customers wherever possible and to offer excellent service, helpful guidance, and a love of books that only a small, dedicated team can provide.
